Before, During and After Rule
(State Association and NACo Conferences, Meetings, Conference Calls and even Webinars)
Let the public and media know where you are going, what you are doing and why. Your regular weekly County meeting is a good time, especially if you will be away at the conference and miss the next meeting. You are letting people know you are away doing what you were elected to do – representing them.
Report when you are there. Social media, media interviews and even call in to local talk radio if possible.
Share a top 3-5 list of things you learned and are bringing back to your county from the conference, the call, the webinar, etc.
Throughout the year look for opportunities to publicly highlight the value of your membership in your state association as well as NACo.
